I have been talking to folks involved and while the Bill is held up in committee and essentially dead word on the street is it is far from over. The next move is going to be to get the required signatures to put it on a statewide ballot and pass it that way, like they did with measure B, which is still law.
There is also going to be increased pressure on OSHA to enforce the existing statewide regulation requiring condoms on set.
But the industry has a small chance here to head this thing off at the pass entirely, we COULD, the question is WILL we.

Even it that were logistically practical AHF would just follow to Jersey and push for the same legislation. This is one the adult industry can’t run from. The only way to defeat such legislation is to effectively address the STD issues. Denying that there is an STD issue or claiming it’s a First Amendment issue isn’t going to accomplish anything.

I know VERY LITTLE about THIS Condom BILL… but the ONE THING that JUMPED OUT at me was ODDLY… the fact that THIS BILL/LAW was being TIED to a PERMIT ACQUIREMENT of some sort… And It just not only seemed OUT of CONTEXT… But it Appeared to have NO Proper Bearing to the HEALTH ISSUES that this CONDOM Law is supposed to be all about!
It just struck me as another Way for the STATE to get QUICK MONEY by SLAPPING some kind of PERMIT Type FEE Onto this HEALTH Issue…
