This is a new thing I am going to do to give some credit to the people who are working for positive change in the industry. There probably won’t be one every week, but when someone is worthy they will get it. If you have a nominee, email me and tell my why they deserve it.
The very first one goes to Lylith LaVey. When most of the people in this biz would have just shrugged it off and chalked it up to typical scumbags in porn, Lylith said no. Not me. I will stand up for what is right. When Mister Marcus exposed her to syphilis, presenting a faked test and working when he knew he was infected Lylith did what everyone he exposed should have done, she filed suit. Now in a just world and in any other business Mister Marcus would have been arrested for what he did but since the city of Los Angeles wasn’t going to make him face the facts, tell the truth and admit he was wrong, Lylith LaVey stood up and said I will do it! In doing so she struck a blow for every performer who has been lied to, manipulated and fucked over on a set.
Now Mister Marcus has hired himself a real douchebag of an attorney named Martin Cutler who claims….and I quote:
“In my 24 years of practicing law, I have never seen a more frivolous case against a defendant than this one. There was an assumption of risk in the case of the shoot. She’s a porn actress — she knew what she was getting into.”
So in Mister Cutler’s fucked up mind when you get into porn and your partner doesn’t disclose that he/she has an STD then it’s your tough luck for being in porn, I mean what did you expect from these scumbags? Well Mister Cutler, I for one hope that Lylith LaVey and her attorney hand you and Mister Marcus your fucking scumbag asses.

Billy, syphilis can be completely cured, 100%. But once you have had syphilis the routine screen test will always come up postive, at which time you do the routine follow up tests that will show you are negative. Syphilis is not like Herpes, where once you have it there is no ‘cure,’ only latent perdiods where you might not be contagious. The thing with herpes is, you are most contagious just before your symptoms can be felt, or become visible. Hope that helps.

Not exactly sure that she isn’t one fry short of a happy meal to be honest, but, assuming she wins and she more than likely will, other than a judgement…what is she expecting to gain? “Marcus you get the helmet for thinking he’s Bruce Cutler. Bruce Cutler would never say the stuff you’re attorney is saying.
“This is too easy to spend three hours on. Lylith Lavey [pictured] is the poor girl, and I’ll take another day to apologize to her for thinking she’s completely retarded as humanly possible. She’s just ill informed,” said Black.

Black also said Cutler’s argument is tantamount to an argument that a woman got raped because she was asking for it.

These questions are for anyone in the industry (past or present) who will give honest answers:
For the performers in porn who have herpes (the law of averages suggests there are likely more than a few), is it wrong or unethical for them to conceal the fact they have the HPV virus while working in porn? I’d guess that most performers would say NO and I’m sure they just take their medication to prevent or suppress unsightly outbreaks and go to work. Isn’t this basically what Marcus did? I mean, he claims he received a penicillin shot from his personal doctor and didn’t work for 10 days as he was advised. Even though he would later test “reactive” for the syphilis, the disease would’ve been rendered non-contagious approximately 24-48 hours after his penicillin shot was administered. The industry has never required herpes testing but how is this not ethically just as bad as Marcus’s actions during the syphilis ordeal?
