A Bad Day Fishing Beats a Good Day At Work

As Promised, although we caught a PILE of fish this one was the best of the trip. That’s a dolphin, better known to you left coast bed wetters as a Mahi-Mahi.

I was reeling up a throw back Red Snapper when he came out of nowhere and grabbed it before I got it in, I saw him and immediately clicked the reel into free spool and got damned excited. After he tore out about a hundred yards I clicked the gears back on and set the hook, he sky rocketed with the hook set. tremendous fun!

Made Sashimi outta him and froze the rest.

  1. I think more people should be made aware of the difference between dolphin-fish and dolphin-dolphin. A lot of trauma could be avoided that way.

  2. You don’t REALLY think I would sink a hook into Flipper do ya?

Well maybe if he was good eatin….but far as I know he isn’t.

  3. aren’t you supposed to freeze the fish first, then defrost, before making sushi (or sashimi) out of them?
