OK if the window period is 60 days you have to go back 60 days PRIOR to his last test meaning that it isnt February 25th its now January 17th ( His last good test was March 17th) Didn’t anyone over there pass basic math? This is 4th grade shit y’all …come on….What they aren’t saying is that I was right….I emailed Tim connelly at AVN and pointed out the error…instead of saying that hey South was right we need to go back to the 25th they cover it by bringing in the 60 day window which has NEVER been mentioned….AIM routinely quotes a 25 day window for the PCR/DNA Test.
I expect better….Don’t let all of this confuse you or concern you…if you wroked with Darren James since Feb 25th go get tested NOW if you worked with someone who worked with Darren james since Feb 25th go get tested now. If you aren’t sure, go get tested now.

Fuck what AIM says Fuck What AVN says If you have worked with Darren James since February 25th, 2004 you may have been DIRECTLY exposed to HIV, you are not a “First Generation” you are a direct exposure. Go get yourself tested. I don’t care if AIM does the test or whom but you need to be tested. If you know yourself to be an indirect exposure you should be tested as well. I will not be using the feel good terms first generation and second generation anymore, they simply are PC speech that lessens the importance of this matter.

Did Darren James Have a False Negative Test?:
Apparently so, AIM is stating he that he tested negative on March 17, that is AFTER he returned from Brasil, where he says he caught the virus. The infallable PCR/DNA test…well it failed.

I Love how Sharon Mitchell is saying how responsible these people are. Lets stop a minute and take a look at this. They went to a third world country to shoot porn, this country has one of the highest per capita HIV rates in the world. They have even passed laws prohibiting shooting non condom porn. So what do they do? In defiance of these laws they shoot non condom porn, completely defying this governments efforts to bring STDs under control. Now please explain to me what exactly is responsible about that?
Quarantine Reset to 60 Days, Thats gonna hurt:
Most pron performers can’t go without income for 60 days and most producers cant go for 60 days without releasing product. The potential repercussions of this outbreak are mind boggling. I am hearing that L.A. County is ready to move in and run AIM completely out of business by making mandatory health regulations that they will oversee.

Thats a good and valid question and one that we in this industry forget gets asked. The popular notion that HIV has an incubation period of 6 months is incorrect. over 95% of people exposed will test positive within the first 30 days over 99.5% will test positive in the first 60 days. A VERY small percentage of the population can take a very long time to test positive, some may never test postive, it isn’t really known what the upper limit is because some people COULD actually even have an immunity to it. In porn we operate on the the 30 day cycle because that, combined with a series of prior tests is the best indicator of someones status at any given time. Nothing is 100% there is always risk, but that is the answer to your question. You do not have to be exhibiting symptoms of AIDS in order to test positive for HIV, it can take many years for you to exhibit symptoms and some people who have HIV never exhibit symtoms, even without medical treatment. These are the kind of things that raise a lot of concerns and questions among researchers.
In the interest of explaining this HIV in and of itself doesnt kill you….it multiplies and it attacks your immune system causing a weakness in your bodies defenses to other diseases, this weakness it creates is called AIDS for Advanced Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
This immune deficiency leaves your body succeptable to diseases like Kaposi’s Sarcoma, Pnuemonia and other diseases that eventually kill you.
I know thats a bit of a simplification of the process but thats it in a nutshell.

I feel the need to re-emphasize that you are making a fundamental mistake by only including people he worked with since his last test on the “first generation list” you have to go back to his second most recent test in the event that he became infected during the “window period” and his last test didn’t catch it. be responsible, I know it is a bigger headache but all of those people need to be retested immediately. That is the ONLY way to be sure. You are speculating that he got HIV in Brasil you DON”T KNOW THAT FOR SURE. Please do not play with anyones life here.

The rumor mill is outta control, I have heard that almost every performer on the first geeneration list was an anal scene, that would almost gauarantee more positives of course it may not be true….I have heard that Darren worked Sunday after at least someone knew he had tested positive I have no proof that that is true. Even Sharoon Mitchell herself is contributing stateing that she had heard that James and others in Brasil engaged in “high risk behaviour” off camera.

AIM has been public with the names on the first and second generation lists, and as such they are duty bound to report the results of the retesting on these performers I hope they all test clean for sure.

AIM has said that everyone who has worked with James since his last test is under a “First generation Quarantine” OK fine but by AIMs own admission the “window period” for the test they use is 30 days so if they were doing this right they would be going back to his Second most recent negative test in the event that he became infected in between the two and the “window” was too close. That would mean everyone who has worked with Darren James since Feb 25th would be in that first generation and should be quarantined until retested.
I guess math aint thier strong point.
