Why are we shaming Samuel L. Jackson for liking porn?

The weirdest thing about the Rupert Murdoch minions is their denial of basic realities, such as hormonal drives and natural sexual urges, in favor of a perverse neo-puritanism.

Those motherfuckers!

Take, for instance, Thursday’s report by NY Post’s Page Six:

Samuel L. Jackson shocked fans when he rang in his 74th birthday on Wednesday by “liking” hardcore porn on Twitter.

The “Pulp Fiction” star’s “liked” tweets feed was filled with videos from Twitter user @blackpanda_00, which included a man masturbating and men and women having sex, among other explicit clips.

Now, I get why miserable people who could never ever be successes in their own lives would seek to knock a successful person down (it’s to hurt them). And why others may think it’s funny that a man born in 1948 doesn’t understand that his Twitter “likes” are public.

But there’s something else in play here, underlying this story, this phenomenon.

It’s the junction where wokies and religious moralists converge. They want to be the deciders and dictators of what is and isn’t appropriate.  The same people who are willing to ban speech that they deem inappropriate are more than happy to shame people away from thoughts and philosophies of which they disapprove.

And this kind of thinking has infected many of us. Even ostensibly supportive tweets were tinged with the idea that a man whose sex drive is still functional is somehow creepy

“Yall had me thinking Samuel L Jackson died, turns out he was just caught liking porn. Let that man be a horny old man in peace!”

Remember, Jackson has been married to his wife LaTanya Richardson for 42 years. Let the man be, and stop shaming people for looking at sexy images. It’s the oldest form of art, after all
