FilmWeek: Nina Hartley on Role In ‘Boogie Nights’ and Evolution of Porn Industry

Legendary porn star Nina Hartley has had a front row seat to all of it over her 30+ years as a porn star. Since starring in her first film in 1984, Nina has racked up more than 1,000 acting credits and directed 18 films, according to the Internet Adult Film Database. But beyond her work on camera, she has been a sex educator and a voice of advocacy for sexual literacy the existence of the adult film industry. She has written books on sexual literacy and has appeared in documentaries about the adult film industry.

Today on FilmWeek, Nina joins Larry Mantle to talk about her role in Boogie Nights, how accurate the film’s portrayal was of the transitional period for the adult film industry, and to reflect on her more than three decades working as an actor, director and advocate for the adult film industry.
