There’s the leader of the House Democrats standing before the microphones yesterday, telling the world that she remains steadfastly against the war in Iraq. Iraqis are dancing in the streets, and Nancy Pelosi is saying she has no regrets for a vote that would have denied these Iraqis the freedom and liberation they’re celebrating.
Here we have a political party that demonstrates to the American people every hour of every day … with every statement from its leaders … that it will never commit America’s military might to the cause of freedom. Democrats, the party of appeasement.
Memo to Nancy Pelosi:
A Failed Plan?
1. We took Iraq in less time than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation.
2. It took less time to find evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.
3. It took Teddy Kennedy longer to call the police after his Oldsmobile sunk at Chappaquiddick than it took the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard.
4. We took Iraq in less time than it took to count the votes in Florida in the year 2000!
And the Democrats called the Iraq effort a failed plan?

PLAYING THE “RACIST” CARD … IT’S GETTING SO MEANINGLESS
The flag issue is still very much alive and hot in Georgia — and it’s causing people to make complete idiots out of themselves. Now we have a Democratic State Senator from Norcorss (Ga.) battling the Flaggots for moron-of-the-week honors. Senator Mary Squires is now weeping, sobbing and crying in the hallways of the Capitol calling Governor Sonny Perdue a “racist.” Mary Squires, the quintessential “hysterical female.”
And just why is Sonny Perdue a racist? Because he is allowing a plan to go forward that could result in a statewide referendum that would put the Confederate battle emblem back on the Georgia State Flag. This, according to Senator Squires, means that Sonny Perdue believes in the inherent, genetic superiority of whites over blacks and the right of the superior white race to dominate and control the inferior race.
Oh … wait. That’s the old definition of racist. Maybe Senator Squires was using the new definition of racist. That would be “anyone who opposes any program, idea or policy favored by or promoted by a person who is not white.”
The “R” word used to mean something. It used to be a charge that should be taken seriously and addressed. Today it means nothing. Nada. It has been so overused by various civil rights warlords, liberals, crybabies and the Mary Squires of this world as to be rendered completely meaningless – a joke.
Come on, Senator Squires. Dry those tears and call Sonny Perdue what he is. Gutless. Gutless because he won’t take a strong leadership position on this issue and tell the Flaggots that their time at center stage is over. If the governor would put the economic welfare of this state above his own reelection chances this issue would have been put to bed months ago.
I know that this flag thing here is a local issue but what Neal points out about how meaningless the word “Racist” has become is dead on the money. Sonny Perdue isn’t racist, he is, as Neal pointed out….GUTLESS.
