We Have A Winner!

Ryan Rayzor over at Lukeford.com figured it out.

The math was porn math

The whole scheme was built on the assumption that 85B divided by 200M =425K

It doesn’t

it equals 425.00

a car payment maybe, or a house payment if you have owned your home a long time.

for me..health insurance for a month.

but the bottom line is it is MY 425.00 and combined with the 700,000,000,000.00 that Little Boots proposed we spend to bail out the banks I’m not real happy about it.

Why are the taxpayers bailing out the two industries that have proven to be the most abusive… insurance and banking.

Yes you may argue but in the long term America might make money on the deal, OK lets say that is so, are they going to pay back my money and pay out a dividend to me?

At first glance Bush’s proposal looks to be nothing more that a preventative measure to keep a failing system working until it totally collapses taking all of us with it.

Some mental notes I made during the speech…isn’t 700 billion doallars almost exactly what we have spent in Iraq?

Bush has been in office for 8 years, most of which the Republicans controlled both houses and the White House.  Why do they think they can fix it now?

And did the government not create this dragon to begin with?  Wasn’t it the “community Re-Investment Act” that made all this possible?  At the governments prodding the banks lowered standards so “poor people” could buy houses they couldnt afford….soon the middle class got in on the act, buying more house than they could afford using the same lending rules, and here we are.

What happens if we let it fail? Might we face some economic hardship?  Sure we will but that’s gonna happen anyway….you cant  borrow your way out of a financial problem.

If we let it fail might not something else will take it’s place, something better, more evolved.

And why would any female with any sense support Sarah Palin who advocates the outright abolition of many rights that you fought very hard to win? It isn’t about babies, it’s about your right to make choices that only affect you. It’s about handing the government the ability to hold a gun to your head and force you to do something you don’t want to do even though it’s between you and your God.

Your Government does not speak for God, nor does God speak through your government, only you have the power to preserve that relationship in a way that is meaningful to you.

Just some thoughts…and congrats to Ryan for not swallowing hook line and sinker something he read.  Always question what you read.
