Florida judge arrested in prostitution sting disbarred

According to the Florida Bar, former Lee County judge Jay Rosman was disbarred effective immediately after a court order on Oct. 31.

The former 20th Circuit judge who was arrested in Florida in 2018 for soliciting prostitution has been officially disbarred.

Jay Rosman was arrested in Naples on Feb. 9, 2018, for trying to hire a prostitute.

According to police, Rosman called an undercover officer and arranged to meet at a hotel. When they met, the judge negotiated to pay $300 for sex.

He was arrested along with five other men at a location on 9th Street North, charged with soliciting prostitution and resisting an officer without violence

Rosman paid a $1,000 fine, took a restorative justice course, went to an AIDS workshop and “counseling”, and resigned from the bench on Feb 13,

The sale of sex continues unabated in Florida despite these efforts to shame customers, because prohibition NEVER works.
