Quasarman (Mike Quasar) is hanging up his FTP account. No more rants on big titted silicone porn chicks, no more fritz the cat pics, no more inane Jeremy Steele ballads about being a pornstar. (Word to Jeremy….check out Buck Cherry “Pornostar” that’s how ya do it) Anyhow even though the drug addled, left coast, bedwetting, tree hugger ( That’d be Quasarman) usually referred to me as an inbred hillybilly mountain goat and other such terms of affection I am gonna miss his sharp wit. Also I will extend an open invitation for him to write for me anytime and I will post his rant unedited. We gonna miss ya Quaz, few have your gift for sharp wit and biting satire.
I just finished reading the new issue of AVN Online. It left me with some random thoughts:
The cover story was on Tera Patrick, Digital Playground contract girl and pretty much what put them on the map. The story credits Samantha Lewis and Adella O’neal with the success of Tera Patrick. I couldn’t agree more. Tera is a sweet chick, I like her but just like Jenna Jameson she would be just another porn chick if not for the marketing savvy and megadollars spent creating her. How many porn chicks do you know who make one movie a year yet still hold a very lucrative “contract”. Call Digital Playground the “Microsoft of Porn” They took a product that that was not overly special to begin with and made it into a standard.
I also noticed all the ads for content providers, which got me thinking how much the web has come to resemble a shopping mall. Most adult sites are all buying content from the same guys like Matrix or Pornholio, so what you really have are thousands of “stores” with identical inventory. When a site like mine produces original and exclusive content eventually the people find it, but its a long uphill run, because we don’t whore out other peoples products with loud ads and huge advertising budgets.
