Is That a Back Spasm or an Orgasm? Someone Please Explain the Modern Softcore Market to me…

I’m sitting here in a hotel room by myself in the middle of the night critiquing Cinemax softcore porn. I believe my Christian high school guidance counselor was correct way back in 1989 when he told me that a career in Hollywood would eventually lead to loneliness and empty sex. Unfortunately, my empty sex hasn’t arrived yet because there’s an illegal alien van accident on the 405 and she’s stuck in traffic.

The television is on and I am absolutely mesmerized by what is appearing on my screen. I haven’t watched softcore Cinemax “porn” since my sophomore year of high school. I can’t even believe this shit still exists in the internet age. I mean, I’m watching it as a goof right now, but who the fuck is actually getting off to this when there are so many other opportunities to score real porn in today’s technology culture? Why watch a guy fake hump a chick wearing a skin colored patch on her vag when you can easily walk over to your computer and within 15 seconds pull up a Russian farm girl blowing the Budweiser Clydesdales? I can even stay in bed for an entire week and eat Funyuns like Brian Wilson did during the 70’s and STILL have access to hardcore pornography broadcast right on my cell phone.

I understand the role that softcore served in the past before everyone had porn piped into their homes via internet 24/7. Even cable company OnDemand shows penetration nowadays. Someone give me a little insight into how softcore still makes money in 2008 and I will bow at the feet of Robert Lombard.

  1. OK, I’ll take a stab at it.

For a LOT of men (and women) their upbringing and view of sex in general causes them to view “porn” as degrading, nasty, filthy, etc… and it simply offends their sensibilities. However, their sensitive eyes & ears are able to compromise with their repressed sexual appetite for what we know as “soft porn”. It’s also, used by some as a stepping stone to encourage their spouse/SigOther.

Also, the idea of “Less Is More”. Lot’s of people find that to be much more erotic. Example: Burlesque

Personally, I think “More Is More”. Example: Donkey Show
