United States Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rhenquist has died from complication due to thyroid cancer, he was 80 years old.
Though Bush won’t likely appoint someone more hostile to adult than Rhenquist this vacancy combined with that left by Sandra Day O’Conner is going to shift the balance decidedly to the right.
This is one Bush legacy that will be with us for a VERY long time.
Unless I miss my guess Bush will appoint Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to the Chief Justice
