Dirty Bob Responds To AVN Award Winner:

comment to An AVN Award Winner:
I understand that you feel slighted by not being able to pick up and carry around (read: show off – but that is GOOD!)  your announced-only pick-up later AVN Award and, instead, must wait for it to be shipped to you.  I am puzzled by your comment that they did this to save a few bucks – how can shipping a product (which is not an inexpensive thing to do) SAVE money as opposed to just handing it out?  As one who, on more than one occasion in the past, helped to hand out announced and not accepted on-stage awards (as it was done in the past) I can safely say that it was done with you, the winner, in mind as it eliminates the possibility of an award not getting to the right person (example: a person in a company picks up an award meant for the company and not that individual – or vice versa where someone from a company picks up an award meant to go to an individual in said company) – you get the idea.

I’m not sure I understand why it’s good to not get your award and have your photos taken with it

From An AVN Award Winner:

I’m assuming you didn’t go to the Awards show, as you had no  complaints about it.
I’m sure I won’t be the first or last to express this, but I’ll give  you my thoughts.
I would like you to post this if you like, but please label it from
an anonymous award winner.  Truthfully, I don’t have your balls when
it comes to pissing off AVN.
I’m sure the complaints about the choice to move the Awards show
venue will be pouring in, so I won’t be redundant.
For me,  the worst thing of all was the fact that AVN has switched
from having winners whose awards are announced on the big video
screens getting their awards mailed to them instead of picking them
up in the back of the hall.  This totally robs the winners of getting
their physical award that night, and being able to go through the
crowd of fans showing off their achievement. I know as an award
winner myself that I was very very disappointed that I was unable to
walk out the door award in hand. Shame on you, AVN for robbing me and
every other screen-announced winner to save a few bucks. What
happened? Did Mark Kernes raise his rates for handing out the awards
in the back?

Which Brings Our Coverage to the AVN Awards:

As I predicted, it was Wickeds turn this year, the abysmally poor “Manhunters” pretty much swept and what it didn’t win former managing editor Bryn Pryor did for the bad but not as bad “Corruption”

The big story though was the awards show itself. It was moved to a bigger venue, a MUCH bigger venue. The event center at Mandalay bay holds 7,000 people. The AVN Awards didn’t sell out this year but it was still quite the spectacle. A lot of kinks need to be ironed out for next years show and I expect they will be. The red carpet was too slow and they were probably too selective about both who could and who couldn’t walk it. The pornstars were way to close to the fans coming in and that made for some very touchy moments, literally. The stars also weren’t overly happy about sitting with fans at the awards.

On the plus side the entertainment gets better every year, this year Criss Angel and BuchCherry were the real stars.

Jessica Drake (honey I dont care HOW old you are get your tit fixed…Jeez Wicked can’t yall pony up for that…you can even tell it in her clothes now) hosted, and the pace was brisk enough I suppose even though I think it is rather dubious to honor someone with a Hall of Fame Award and not allow them to say anything….and why does the best oral scene winner make a speech but the contract star of the year gets hetr trophy mailed to her? And what’s with Jenna getting crossover star of the year? All she did was sell to Playboy and get a divorce…Congrats to all the winners though!

Thanks For The Well Wishes:

From everyone!

I had an MRI on my lower back on Tuesday, I got a call Tuesday afternoon that the doctor saw something near the top of the pics and wanted more so I had to go back on Wed for more MRI, this time with dye. It wasn’t a big deal just consumed two days of my time, the diagnosis is Monday and I will let yall know what the doc says.

WSB Radio Chickshit?

Melissa Wolfe (The Mansion Madam) and myself were slated to be on the Allen Hunt Show on Sunday Night. Allen is a Minister here in Atlanta and does a show on faith, religion and such as that, but he isn’t your holy roller type, he is fair and even when he disagrees (I have done his show several times) he is respectful and he isnt combative. His politics even lean more toward Libertarian than not. As such I enjoy being a guest on his show, albeit an enemy guest. He has an audience that we as porners don’t pften get to address in a non combative honest manner. But I digress.

I was notified early this week by a friend in a high place that Gwinnett County whore for publicity prosecutor Danny Porter wasn’t going to let that show happen.

Today I was notified by Allen Hunts producer that the higher ups at Cox Radio (WSB AM750, Atlanta) nixed the show because its an ongoing investigation. HUH? Since when does a station that bills itself as “News Radio” not want to cover a story that they have been hyping every fifteen minutes for three weeks?

Word I get is that Danny got to them, and that theres some “higher ups” at Cox Sucker Radio who are afraid of what is in Melissa’a little black book….very afraid. And you know what….they should be. But it isn’t Danny they should fear. It’s Melissa. They should thank whatever God they pray to that she has enough balls NOT to take the easy way out.
