Everyone else has covered this pretty well, but I have some thoughts.
I know Brian is well liked and I don’t envy his current situation, I even empathize with it, but the fact is that his foolishness and reckless disregard left a child dead and a mother grieving. Nobody deserves that either.
This is something he is going to have to own for the rest of his life, and he is going to have to face the consequences of his disregard for the safety of others on the road.
Be glad you weren’t in that parked car.
