AIMs Closure, Is It For Good

A lot of people are speculating that AIM isn’t closed for remodeling, it’s closing for good. The battered health clinic has had it’s problems lately and it could be that they add up to throwing in the towel.

First AIM was shut down by the county for not having the proper licensing, then they take the clinic from non profit to private, shortly after, the news that their database had likely been abused and leaked to the public hit them very hard because it puts them first in line to be sued by performers in a class action lawsuit for negligently handling the data, now that they are privately held, the private owners could be named personally in this suit.

Performer confidence in AIM has been slipping over the years and in the last six months has plummeted to a level lower than George Bush’s approval ratings.  From Substandard testing, to incorrect test results, to Sharon Mitchell being outed as having a meaningless “Phd”, to grossly mishandling the latest HIV scares to losing control of the sensitive data in their database AIM is in deep trouble.

Even if it’s true that they are “remodeling” this is about the worst possible time they could pick to do it.  They still haven’t announced the results of their so called “audit” to determine when and to whom the data was leaked.  Anyone with half a brain knows why too, because they don’t have any way of knowing.

I actually gave them information that could be used to narrow it down to a few days but I am certain they either ignored it or more likely didn’t understand it.

So would it make sense for AIM to throw in the towel?  Yes I could see that.  It might also make sense that they are buying time by not being available to the press or performers or anyone else who has questions, or maybe subpoenas for them.

Any way you look at it AIM is in deep trouble.
