The latest outrage on adult industry social media is being fomented by the usual suspects we have come to know well since 2017: from the death of August Ames, the woke Twitter mobs, the blind support for sexual assault fabricator Leigh Raven . . . and many other instances, leading up to the post-election “list” meant to label, shame and harm adult industry members for either engaging in the thought crime of saying something positive about Donald Trump, or being a “Zionist” (obvious code for “Jew).
Their current cause celebre is the shaming and lambasting of AVN for holding its 2025 Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE) and awards show at the Virgin Hotels (formerly the Hard Rock) in Las Vegas, because members of the Culinary Union are currently on strike there.
Forget the fact that AVN contracted with the venue many months before the strike began . . . . Pay no attention to the dirty tactics employed by this politically powerful union. . . . Cue the David & Goliath rhetoric! Cue the blue / pink collar polemics from women who earn five figures per month as performers and creators!
Moreover, the union has been accused of misrepresenting the strike in a big way:
But even more ridiculous, and far worse indeed, the porn industry people standing with the strikers and encouraging the shaming of AVN are the same woke leftists who stand with Hamas and worldwide Intifada: people who not only hate sex work but believe in rape . . . and murder.
The porn folks standing with the strikers and encouraging the shaming of AVN are also the same woke leftists who celebrate the public assassination of healthcare company CEOs, and openly bemoan the fact that President Trump did not have his head blown off on live television.
Their support for the strikers is the most damning of praise.
This is all rooted in a kind of five-year-old mentality that 1) the Bad Man must be punished, and 2) he can always be identified as the one standing in opposition to the good, noble ones: leftists, dark people, gender ideology activists, union members . . . the names may change, but woke neo-Marxist always employs the same juvenile analysis.
As usual, the problem goes all the way back to Marx himself.

Marxist analysys — based on group/class conflict — is not really analysis at all. It’s premised upon the kind of “revealed wisdom” that lies at the core of religions. Marx was not a historian or economic theorist, as the brilliant James Lindsay reminds us; he was essentially a theologian.

The whole objective of Marxism was to weave a grand, compelling story to gain recruits so that the Communist Party, with him at its head, could seize ultimate power. That’s not analysis. Marx’s so-called critiques . . . were ad hoc and designed to foment discontent with the existing order.”
This is not analysis. This is a crafted narrative promulgated not to help mankind understand the world, but to revolutionize the world by luring well-meaning dupes and useful idiots.
This is why, to this very day, Marxists seize upon any and every crisis and mobilize the woke to fight against some (usually imagined) oppressor. Marxists didn’t care about feminism any more than they did George Floyd or any more than they did Hamas (2024’s “Gaza Floyd”). The tactic is always, always to amplify crisis and conflict, because their objective is always to destroy the existing order (status quo).
As the radicals have long stated: “The issue is never the issue; the issue is always the Revolution.”
Coercion
A December story in the Las Vegas Sun, “Virgin Hotels says it must protect its financial health as strike in Las Vegas drags on,’ is instructive.
Officials with Virgin Hotels Las Vegas say the recently renovated off-Strip property can’t take on more financial pressure.
Sweetening its contract offer to striking workers would add more economic strain, especially since similar contracts at other local resorts have produced layoffs, they say. Dismal casino earnings over the past two years illustrate Virgin’s precarious spot, they say.

Negotiations haven’t been helped by accusations of bad-faith bargaining and shots across the negotiating table.
The resort’s owner filed multiple complaints against the union alleging a “refusal to bargain” and “coercion” including “statements and violence” with the National Labor Relations Board before the current strike started.
Resort management told the Sun that the union hasn’t engaged in “meaningful negotiations” since January and that when Culinary responds, it’s with “unreasonable counterdemands.”
Damning Praise
Having previously idealized depraved, murderous Hamas savages who would proudly rape, stone or butcher every sex worker and LGBT individual, those standing in solidarity with the Culinary Union local and against AVN have done the union no favors.
