Backspace asks:  what are you optimistic about?

While it might seem I’m rather pessimistic that really isn’t true, for example I’m optimistic that my life is going to be, for the most part, happy…and isn’t that the true definition of optimism?

But y’all don’t wanna read happy shit, you know that when you see it anyway.

When it’s just breaking daylight and a warm breeze is blowing from offshore and I’m headed SSW towards the open ocean piloting the boat I’m always optimistic that we will catch lots of fish, and even if we don’t I’m optimistic that it is going to be a good day.

I’m optimistic that in spite of our politicians who are working very hard to destroy our freedom and enslave us all we will continue to be the great country that we are. I’m optimistic about American’s ability to adapt and overcome.

I’m optimistic that there is life elsewhere in the Universe, LOTS and LOTS of it. I’m optimistic that some of it is intelligent and I offer as proof that non of it has tried to contact us….I’m optimistic that when we do make contact we will learn much that will be good.

I’m optimistic that at some point we will outgrow the intellectual need for religion to explain the unexplainable, and as such we will stop killing each other in the name of God.

I’m optimistic that our children will do a better job of things than we have.
