In Praise of Kernes:

Hey Mike (sorry, I can’t make your name sound like A-dell <g>)…

Long time…how ya doing?

Great job on the Baby Seal bit. I’ve got to admit, as I was first reading I wondered “Where’s he going with this…”, but it quickly became clear.

Also nice to mention the “major company” with the free flowing drugs on the sets. Gosh, that wouldn’t happen to be a company that starts with a “V” and has another “v” and a couple of “i”‘s in it’s name would you.

I also have to admit to having mixed feelings about the impending war. But it’s not a California thing. Mike, you need to travel somewhere other than L.A. or San Francisco…much of California is still a bunch of guys like Bartles & Jaymes <g>. They say things like “It blowed up” and “it EX-ploded” (those quotes from farmers less than an hour from L.A.). But what I especially wanted to point out is regardless of your, mine or anyone else’s beliefs on this, I was really impressed with Mark Kernes (I’m not saying I agree with him).

Let me explain. I thought Mark’s response to your site was amazingly well worded, it was eloquent, erudite…a far cry from the guy who always used to send me e-mails anytime I hit the nail on the head about industry negatives. Those always read: “HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS. WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU? YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT THE FUCK YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT.” 🙂

By the way, those ARE direct quotes.

Always thought it was interesting that the first part was “How do you know this” followed by a dismissal. Isn’t that kinda indicating I knew something? 🙂 Ahhh, logic!.

So, well worded, maybe the best writing I’ve ever seen from him (well, duh!)…but, I sure don’t want to see him naked.

And, damn…you gots good sources. I had to tell Luke 🙂

Thanks LT and I second the motion about NOT seeing Kernes naked but then as far as I know that may be the one thing me and Mark DO agree on…I don’t think he wants to see himself naked either. Mark does read the site though and in all honesty, though I may disagree with Kernes I do like the guy and I do respect his opinion, even if it is wrong 🙂
