Last month we reported that Alice Little, the highest-earning courtesan at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch brothel, was instituting legal proceedings against Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak over his “arbitrary” refusal to reopen the state’s legal bordellos amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The case is filed, but as legal battles can be incredibly costly, Little has established a Legal Defense Fund.
At the fund’s GoFundMe page, she writes:
My name is Alice Little and I’m a legal sex worker in Nevada who’s stepped up to hold Governor Sisolak accountable for the continued pandemic-related closure of America’s only legal brothel system. Nevada’s governor has unfairly kept the legal brothels closed while allowing other high-contact businesses, such as massage parlors, spas, and salons, to reopen. Nevada’s legal brothels have kept sex workers safe and provided a legal and respectable outlet for sex workers to ply our trade for nearly fifty years, and now the brothels are in danger of closing forever and the livelihoods of sex workers are in dire jeopardy.
As many of you know, legal battles aren’t cheap. This lawsuit has been self-funded up to this point, and now I’m asking for your help to allow me to pursue this case all the way through to a successful victory.
The brothel’s closure affects far more than just myself- it affects an entire network of working women and staff who are all suffering financially as a direct result of Governor Sisolak’s refusal to reopen these respected adult businesses- hence the need for legal action.
Together, I know we can not only raise the funds to support the case, but also win!
