Adult Performer Will Pounder Profiled at Daily Star Online

Britain’s Daily Star ran a feature on AVN’s 2020 Best Male Newcomer Will Pounder, Friday, detailing his pre-porn career as a U.S. Marine, his entry into the world of X, and his rise as the anchoring presence in scores of VR sex scenes.

It’s a tabloid-style profile, to be sure, but buried within it is something quite inspiring that we felt obliged to share with our readers:

“I joined the Marines because I knew I needed discipline to be a success in life, and to find my place and my purpose.”

The fitness fan enjoyed the role, but his service was cut short when he was severely injured.

As he carried a comrade who sprained his ankle, along with his pack and both of [their] weapons, Will fractured his fifth lumbar vertebrae.

The accident was so severe that the he had to learn to walk again.

Two months after his honourable discharge, Will was still in severe pain.

He had hopes to become a jiu-jitsu teacher, but had to focus on his recovery instead.

In 2017, Will had fought his way back to health and was ready to embark on a new career. . . .

The former troop began shooting adult scenes – and became well-known in the world of virtual reality porn.

He’s worked a lot with VR Bangers, a company that considers Will to be one of their most prolific stars.

 

A company spokesperson said: “Most of our latest VR porn videos were made with this handsome dude. We plan on producing more and more VR porn movies with him in the future and we are certainly willing to do so!”

Will has won awards for his work – including an AVN Award for Best Male Newcomer, as well as a nomination from adult industry trade magazine XBIZ for his work in a scene produced by VR Bangers.

He hopes his virtual reality films will help those who are feeling stir crazy during the coronavirus pandemic.

The adult star said: “The coronavirus pandemic has led me to discover the true value of my career path.

“People need human connection and to be entertained. Because of the worldwide quarantines, social distancing, and curfews due to the pandemic, people are longing for physical contact and a sexual release.

“Adult entertainment, and especially virtual reality, has come to the rescue, to provide much-needed relief and entertainment — from the safety one one’s own home.”

Even though the porn star knows he’s not making as much difference as those working on the frontline, he’s glad that he’s able to provide entertainment during this difficult time.

Will added: “I have military and firefighter friends who are working non-stop, 24/7 right now, putting their lives on the line for all of us. But still, I am proof that we all have a role to play in helping our fellow man, no matter what job we have.”

How do you like that — deep down it’s a story about someone finding purpose, and a “sex work is work” piece set against the backdrop of the worldwide COVID-19 quarantines.
