No DVD Slowdown for Harder Gay Genres

I’m just putting it out here upfront that I don’t know much about gay porn… However, I do know that every gay boxcover I’ve ever seen features a guy with a 1980’s haircut, and they all have names that sound like bad TV private detectives ( Rex Wade, Rod Fulton, etc…).

I’m finally in the process of moving forward with my first adult project, and happened to cross paths today with a guy who heads up one of the largest gay distribution companies around. He wasn’t willing to go on the record here with his comments, but he did give me some interesting insights that I thought I would write about.

He said that most of his major competitors have gone out of business while his company continues to thrive better than ever. His DVD sales are up 280% over this time last year. He attributes this success to his catalog of controversial harder to find gay genres such as barebacking and swallowing. The jack shacks sell through his titles almost immediately upon hitting the shelves. He doesn’t even have to staff a sales department because there’s no prospecting or hustling for business. The clients contact him. Plus, he also mentions that most gay guys don’t have families that they have to hide their porn from. They prefer to watch movies on television in their living rooms instead of downloading clips on a tiny computer screen with the volume down.

He tried to give me a copy of one of his flicks. It was a compilation of dudes cumming on each others shaved heads then rubbing it into their scalps. I believe that dry heaving on a public sidewalk is the international sign for saying no to someone offering you extreme gay porn, so I don’t think he was too offended by my decline.
