I’m not aware of who these people are but the following is making the rounds with porn people. I would suggest it’s certainly worth a look. I would appreciate a report back from anyone who attends.
I like the idea of an independent third party doing testing but need more info on these guys before I would even consider an endorsement

I’m all for better testing, and what they promise sounds great, but the website looks like it was put together by a office temp in 1998. Links don’t work, odd capitalization, etc. Does not inspire confidence, particularly for something this serious. But yeah — more investigation is needed, particularly about the 4th generation tests.

No thanks. Sounds like this is the antibody tests which from what I read is a 3 week to 6 month window period. I think I’ll stick to CET for my business.
Its not the antibody test. Its a combination of PCR (or antigen) and the antibody tests that are being advocated. PCR is a very sensitive test and will detect HIV virus during the 3-6 weeks window period that the antibody test doesn’t. Whereas the antibody test can give false positives and set off unnecessary alarms, PCR doesn’t. In fact, to minimize both risks and costs and maximize benefit, I would recommend the PCR test alone as gold standard for HIV testing in porn talents.
Why is Porno Dan running off at the mouth about girls who do “$300 Tricks” when he only pays girls $500 for BG scenes that turn into gang bangs.
Did everyone forget who Porno Dan is and what he has done? 2007 – 2009 didn’t he bankrupt a company?
Isn’t the the one AIM used for years? Also isn’t that the one the industry didn’t want to use??
@Pornville, Anitgen is not synonymous with PCR. The antigen component of this test is actually the P24 antigen, and is usually part of the Western Blot method of testing. this test is NOT a PCR test in any way.
@JW, this is NOT the test AIM ever used.
regarding window, or eclipse periods. the often stated 10 day eclipse period for PCR tests is a best case scenario. It CAN detect that early, it does not mean that it will. Most PCR testing is 95% accurate after 28 days.
PCR, Elisa, and Western Blot are METHODS of testing. You can do PCR for herpes, hepatitis, etc, and the ELISA method of testing is used for many routine chemistry and hematology tests. Western Blot is used to confirm many diseases, not just HIV.
There have been major strides in lab testing technology and techniques over the past ten years, with PCR rapidly becoming the prefered method for alot of tests. The specificity and sensitivity of many tests is greatly improved over the years. The debate in the porn industry even five years ago over which test to use is already irrelevant. The whole battle of this PCR test versus that PCR test was nothing more than a Coke Vs. Pepsi debate. It had more to do with supporting one clinic over the other, and had nothing to do with patient health and safety, as is the norm in the porn industry.
