I used to own a club with a family member that “circumvented” that by saying the girls would be flown out to strip which they would. They also knew shoots would happen as well. I could see his point, but I wouldn’t want to fight that in court. I didn’t even trust the lawyers on that one.

Apparently the general feeling here is that paying for travel is no big deal despite the fact that it clearly violates The Mann Act. Yeah, you can get kicked out of SAG for working on a non-SAG film. I don’t know many performers who would risk working on non-SAG films so I haven’t seen it very often, but they have no problem kicking you out.
SAG helping the adult industry would never happen primarily because porn isn’t acting. They may say a few lines, but they don’t “act” like they’re having sex, they actually “are” having sex.
I realize the porn industry doesn’t view it this way and they come up with crazy rules to try to make it sound more glamorous or something, but it is kind of like prostitution with a camera present and SAG would never get involved with any of that and the complicated laws that go with it…. especially considering the only legal states which can shoot pornography are CA and NH. SAG would never get involved with illegal practices. Way too much liability and I doubt the members would approve it anyway. There’s just too many problems present to even consider the possibility..

Actually America’s oldest Sheriff Joe Arpaio from Maricopa County, AZ (including Phoenix, he also has the tent jail and the chain gangs) has said if he heard of people producing porn in his county they would be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of Arizona law.
