Hi Mike,
Along with the Dallas Cowboys, I’ve always disliked the Steelers, especially after the referees gave them the Super Bowl against my beloved Seattle Seahawks.
(anyone who disputes this, I’ve got the proof on videotape. Even John Madden, who called the game and has always been a Steelers fan, called some of the ref’s calls against the Seahawks “ticky-tacky.”)
But I might end up rooting for the Steelers tomorrow.
The owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, a life long Republican, endorsed Obama and raised money and campaigned for him in a “must win” state.
The owner of the Arizona Cardinals campaigned and raised money for John McCain.
Arizona is McCain’s State, a red state, and the Cardinals wear red uniforms.
The outcome of the football game has no bearing on my life.
The outcome of the election hopefully will have a positive bearing on my life, my industry, my country and the world.
A win by the Steelers will benefit financially a man who put his money behind Obama.
A win by the Cardinals will benefit financially a man who put his money behind McCain.
Plus, Kurt Warner is a fundamentalist Born Again Christian who credited God for his win over the Eagles.
I don’t know many fundamentalist Born Again Christians who are pro-adult entertainment.
I guess God chose Arizona over the Eagles because they have “Cardinals.”
Also, does any Seahawk fan want the Cardinals to be thinking both times they face Seattle next year, “Ha, Ha, we did what you losers couldn’t.”
So go Steelers.
