Last night, Fox 11 in L.A. reported that Dr. Peter Cheski, he of lavish praise from Sharon Mitchell and others in the industry (remember, this is the man who Sharon Mitchell referred to as “an implant innovator”), has had his license temporarily suspended following the death of woman who had received breast implants courtesy Cheski. The main issues surround his failure to check the medical history of the woman.
The story also mentioned that Cheski is also being investigated for a couple of other incidents. One involving giving a facelift to a hemophiliac (who, not surprisingly, lost a huge amount of blood), the other involving his mishandling and misreporting regarding an
infection following a lip “enhancement”.
The court case involving the death is coming up in the next few weeks, but the others will be resolved in a California Medical Board hearing
later this year. It’s very possible he could have his license permanently revoked (we can all hope!).
Overall, a nice piece by 11, but what about the fact that they themselves, as well as some other L.A. stations, have shilled for Cheski doing pieces that were little more than infomercials?
