I would expect that AHF is involved in this, they are probably going to target them for sending performers to a “hazardous workplace” ie one without condoms. specifically 1700.33 states
No talent agency shall send or cause to be sent, any
artist to any place where the health, safety, or welfare of the
artist could be adversely affected, the character of which place the
talent agency could have ascertained upon reasonable inquiry.
My source sends me the following:
Get ready to see major action taken against LATATA members for violating section 1700.33 of the California Labor Code, within two weeks.
The ironic thing is the Department of Industrial Relations is going to only go after licensed agents. This is phase one of the DIR going after the agents. The information they will get from the agents in this investigation is going to be used for a phase two attack, on other issues, and specific code violations.
I wouldn’t take this as an idle threat, this source correctly predicted that Isadore Hall would introduce AB332. Stay tuned!

No suprise. Kinda figured this action was going to be next. have you asked your “Cousin ” Jim about this ? Considering how long he has been an agent, his reaction would be quite intresting.
Here wake up call porn industry. That wake up call is state California not gone turn head ever time make stupid mistake except ingor any more. State California done take word that gone police your self on this issue. State California has no faith in your ability to do so. State California does care if move Las Vegas if do want use condoms or follow rules. Afh would love for industry move Las Vegas one mistake there indusrty well be more screw than any one at bunny ranch be weareing condoms to boot.
Well, Mike, we have both written on this site that people who think this is a First Amendment issue are mistaken. At the end of the day, it’s a workplace safety issue. That’s where they’ll hang their hats.
Since legislators are reading this…
Enforcement couldn’t be simpler. An 800 number that anyone can call to tip off the authorities and possibly receive a reward for their information leading to a conviction! Underground porn will still be online, and the owners of the content are STILL responsible!
All the police will have to do is confirm that worker safety laws were ignored and take the appropriate action! Simple as can be!!!
There is nowhere in America where employers have the right to sacrifice worker safety, ESPECIALLY when it’s simply for increased profit!
Peace!
If the biz goes underground, do I get to raise my rates?
Here idea for industry avoid there kind of things. Frist industry need stop pretend these thing are not gone happen to them. Second realize that FSC got mission statement that not looking out for very one in industry. Third realize for ever stupid act happens in indusrty in California from now on well come cost. Realize the good old days industry in California over not come back.
When it comes to this law, you could say the same thing about sports agents. In many sports, being injured is expected to happen at least sometimes. With boxing, that is the whole purpose of the sport. If sports were handled like the condom issue, you would have many people in an uproar about it. Porn fans don’t have the same level of influence as sports fans.
The problem with the sports analogy, Jaime, especially with regard to boxing, is that the sport is regulated by law – not by the sport. Boxers undergo exams. A commission – not a manager or handler – determines whether a fighter is fit to get in the ring. Fighters are required to wear some level of protective gear – gloves have to be of a certain weight; they must wear mouth guards; handwraps are inspected; referees and handlers wear latex gloves. There is a doctor ringside who can stop the fight if a boxer is too injured to defend himself. If a boxer is knocked out, he must wait a certain period of time before he fights again. So ….. if you applied the same standard to porn, health care professionals would exam performers or review their records before they shoot a scene; they might have to wait a certain period of time between shoots, especially for acts like anal or vigorous vaginal sex; there would be a doctor on the set in case a performer is injured or can’t continue a scene; makeup, prop and other handlers would wear latex; and performers would probably wear condoms. That’s the porn equivalent of protective gear.
