The Yellow Cab Company vehicle had pulled into the Bally’s valet area around 11:15 a.m. on May 24 when the driver stepped out to assist the passenger with unloading their luggage.
According to an arrest report, Swayze climbed into the driver’s seat around the same time and drove away at a “high rate of speed.”
According to the report, a passenger, who was still in the backseat, later told police that the cab hit something on the road, causing her to hit her head against the door. She was allowed to exit the vehicle unharmed.
The accidental passenger begged him to stop, and he dropped her off less than a mile away from the resort, telling her to “get out of the vehicle and that it would be her only chance,” according to police.
