Hey Mike, I don’t want to register but I want to send a comment for the post which you are welcome to put there with my name on in the comments or not. Thanks. No hard feelings, just want to register my disagreement.
This is the first time I am commenting on a post in the many years I have covered the adult industry because I strongly disagree with your post putting any responsibility at all on the victim of an alleged crime even it is done in a way as you say not to diminish the guilt of the perpetrator. Everything you suggest she said and did was within the bounds of the law regardless of your opinion of its wisdom her health and safety were solely harmed by an alleged criminal assault. Because she is the victim of a criminal she was harmed and for no other reason. Nothing she did or may have done can be said to assist or bring responsibility on anyone other than the individual that chose to perpetrate a crime against her person. This point you are trying to make and say others in porn are saying amongst themselves seems to me only to suggest how much pornland has to learn about not blaming victims.

The key words are responsibility and wisdom. She has absolutely no responsibility for what happened to her. And she doesn’t need anyone else to tell her the mistakes she made. The voice in her head is already doing that. But there are others who are in a similar situation who need to learn from this situation and get out before it is too late. There is a time when it is appropriate to criticize victims. Now is not the time in this case but when she went back to him the first time, her friends and family at least should have read her the riot act. When Rhianna went back with Chris Brown she should have been criticized. Oprah was much too easy. I understand what Mike is trying to say even if I don’t agree with the way he said it.

I would suggest Richard Abowitz read a little kids fairy tale known as “The Boy Who Cried Wolf.”

Richard Abowitz sucks when it comes to writing for that stupid paper, The Beast and really used to suck when it came to the
Las Vegas review. He is a good friend of that Evil Angel HIV dude.
@jennajameson this is my view and I carry it into my reporting: http://t.co/TXYvmTWkh8 We solid in this if nothing else?
The problem with these cases is that we judge the moment of impact, without measuring what was going on before the “accident” happened.
Many girls who have been beat within an inch of their lives (or killed) are not on their first round in the ring. It’s been reported that Christy suffered physical abuse before. The real issues here are ones of personal choice, fear, and a whole bunch of other things. This guy didn’t get up one morning and suddenly turn into a wife beater, it’s something that was in him and had already slipped out before.
The victim, unless in a random act crime, almost always has at least some part in what went down. If you park your car in front of the 7/Eleven and leave the doors unlocked and the keys inside, don’t be shocked if it gets stolen while you get your slurpee. While people should not steal and the theft is wrong, clearly you as the victim do have a part to play in it. You could choose to take the keys and lock the door, and then the crime is much harder to commit.
The first time a girl gets hit, it’s a crime and maybe even a life lesson. When she goes back and takes a second, third, and fourth round of the abuse, it’s a tragedy. Finding ways to fix that tragedy before it happens would go a long way to ending these horrible stories.

Thank you for taking this occasion to deviate from your policy of not commenting on posts.

I’m assuming your targeted audience is porn yet the same is true everywhere.
It’s not my fault but it is my responsibility hits too close to home today. August 15, 2012 our daughter called asking to we move in. We said yes looking forward to seeing more of her and our grandson. We welcomed the boyfriend we didn’t like in our blissful ignorance of the abuse and it’s extent over four years.
“Why didn’t you say no? What the fuck is wrong with you?” “You know better than that!” My August 28th reaction to her explaining how she wound up spending the day dodging the bullets that hit our police impounded Tahoe and likely facing jail for weapons enhanced felony drug charges.
Having a great lawyer to defeat the charges nor two years time have begun to erase the haunting image of her face as those words made a victim blaming grand slam I was then ignorant to.
@zeldaFitz5 sorry, you know that part already! Been so upset by the coverage, I wrote this into a porn blog: http://t.co/TXYvmTWkh8 A first
Please understand something Christy did not deserve what she got by any means. It makes me sick to the point of wanting to kill the shit head. I love women my love for woman is what lead me to adult. But at the same time I can’t not speak this issue has been prevalent since my start in 94 to my exit in 2007. It’s time that adult start cleaning it self up for real. Protecting the slime in the industry only hurts the industry.
I have been on sets where the suitcase pimp becomes violent. After his arrest or ass kicking. Amazingly how the victim aka the porn girl jumps all over the people protecting her or pulling the suitcase pimp off. Usually screaming that you’re hurting him or he did not mean it or some other malarkey.
The issue is girls that have been beaten down by society and the industry it’s self, their extremely vulnerable to the advances of some serious sick men. The guy is nice at first gaining their trust. I knew of one guy in the early 90’s that makes War machine look like a prince. The industry has been brushing these incidents under the rug and in some case protecting these guy. If you’re a good money earner for the studio Male wise no one ever hears about it. The victim gets some medical attention and by Friday its forgotten she off getting high.
Non of these girl enter the business without baggage be that a broken home or from a family of domestic violence to start with. For many this behavior is a continuation of home life they know no different.
This is much more a society issue then it is a porn issue. Porn just seems to attract more bottom feeders. The situation is not nearly as bad as it was in the 90’s and early 2000 partly I think due to a bit more of a lax view by society on porn the younger generations just don’t care as much peer wise.
Very few of these women sat in high school dreaming of being a porn star. Stories very but broken homes are pretty common.
