A Dunnellon, Florida woman is accused of throwing a television and an Xbox console at a man after she caught him viewing pornography.
The victim told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that 48-year-old Tammy Neviline Marshall also struck him in the face with her hand after catching him researching pornography Wednesday night. The deputy observed a small laceration on the victim’s hand and some blood on his finger. The victim also had a small red mark beside his left eye, according to the sheriff’s office report.
Marshall told the deputy she found photos of a woman on the victim’s phone and was upset. She said the victim became upset and started throwing things around, the report said.
Marshall showed the deputy the broken TV in the main bedroom. She said the victim followed her into the room and slung the TV and Xbox console off the dresser, causing the TV to break. Marshall said she picked up the items and put them back on the dresser. She said the victim then left the house and she didn’t hear anything else from him, according to the report.
The victim recorded the incident with his cell phone. The video shows Marshall walk into the bedroom with the victim in the doorway. It also shows Marshall throwing the flat-screen TV and several more objects at the victim, and the victim saying Marshall just hit him, the report said.
After being read her Miranda rights, Marshall said she picked up the TV and threw it back at the victim when he threw it at her. She said she was upset and just kept slinging other objects on the dresser at the victim. Marshall said she didn’t mean to hit the victim, but then said, “I’m sorry for hitting him,” according to the report.
Marshall was charged with simple battery and taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released Thursday on her own recognizance. She will appear in Marion County Court on Aug. 25.
