The Englewood resident, who works at an Osprey church, is accused of possessing hundreds of sickening illegal images.
ENGLEWOOD, Fla. — A Florida minster and registered sex offender has been arrested after authorities found child pornography on his home computer.
Sarasota County Sheriff’s officials tell news outlets that 66-year old Charles Andrews was arrested late Tuesday. The Englewood resident is charged with 500 felony counts of possession of child pornography and three counts of failing to meet sex offender requirements: failing to register his email addresses and a social media account as a sex offender.
According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, a detective received information Tuesday from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Yahoo that a user was downloading child pornography. An investigation led to the 80 block of Lee Circle in Englewood and Charles Andrews, a preacher at the Osprey Church of Christ, 406 Pennsylvania Ave. Andrews is a registered sex offender who was convicted in 2006 in Alabama of second degree sexual abuse.
A search of Andrews’ computers found more than 500 images of child pornography.
