Adult starlet Carolina Cortez has been named in the criminal case relating to the overdose death of rapper and hip-hop artist Mac Miller last year.
News broke Wednesday that US Attorneys charged a Hollywood Hills man in connection with the death of Miller, who was found dead of a drug overdose one year ago.
The 42-page criminal complaint and detailed affidavit of DEA agent Tommy S. Fung filed in the Central District of California alleges that a drug dealer named Cameron “Cam” James Pettit, 28, supplied Miller with “pressed” a.k.a. counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl.
According to text messages uncovered in the DEA investigation, Miller had asked to be furnished with “percs,” (percocet), a prescription painkiller containing oxycodone.
Miller was discovered unresponsive in his Studio City, Calif. home on Sept. 7, 2018. His death was ruled accidental, and that it was caused by an overdose of alcohol, cocaine and fentanyl.
Pettit was arrested Wednesday. An examination on the unsealed Complaint reveals that the woman the DEA alleges acted in a courier capacity for Pettit and a woman named Mia Johansson, was “Karla Amador a.k.a. ‘Carla’ and ‘Carolina Cortez'”.
Cortez has also worked as an adult performer since 2017. She is on the roster of adult talent agency Society 15, which has been a rogue unlicensed outfit since July.
Reports online state that Johansson has a child with adult performer Romeo Price.
Romeo Price’s agent is — you guessed it — Society 15.
According to the timeline laid out in great detail in the Complaint, on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 Miller texted Pettit to request drugs. Not receiving a quick response, Miller then texted a local madam (Johansson) from whom he had previously purchased drugs.
It was Johansson who introduced Pettit to Miller, according to the complaint, and they were jointly involved in providing drugs to him.
From Johansson, Miller ordered cocaine, Adderall (amphetamine salts), Norcos, Xanax and Oxycodone. Johansson then sent Cortez to deliver these drugs in the early hours of Sept. 5, Fung wrote, and it appears as though she was also engaged as an escort for Miller at a cost of $700.
The affidavit sought the authorization of a search warrant for Cortez’s person, premises and vehicle “to seize evidence, fruits, or instrumentalities of violations o 21 U.S.C. § 841 (a) (1) (distribution of, and possession with intent to distribute, controlled substances)”.
It is not known whether the warrant has yet been executed, but Cortez is said to still be at liberty.
Carolina Cortez is repped by adult talent agency Society 15.
As of yet, she has not been charged, and thus a few questions obtrude themselves. Has law enforcement interviewed Cortez? Do they anticipate she will roll over on Pettit and Johansson?
