While others repeat the politically correct mantra that all religions are alike, all religions are alike . . . Two Muslim Afghan men who allegedly plotted the kidnapping and ‘honor killing’ of a woman who ‘renounced Islam and became a porn star’ have been arrested in the UK ahead of their planned extradition.
Mohammed Patman, 53, from Ilford, and Darya Khan Safi, 49, from Coventry, were detained by National Crime Agency (NCA) firearms officers at their homes in the capital and the West Midlands. They stand accused of tracking Patman’s 25-year-old daughter with a view to assassinating her after she relocated to work in adult films in Slovakia.
In the duo;s mind, the young woman had committed the ‘crimes’ of sexual immorality and apostasy. As of 2014, laws in various Muslim-majority countries prescribed for the apostate (Arabic: murtadd) sentences ranging from prison terms to execution.
They were arrested in London and Coventry yesterday after an investigation by the NCA, often called ‘Britain’s FBI’.
A spokesman for the agency said: ‘The pair were wanted by the Slovakian authorities for conspiring to murder the 25-year-old woman, who was living in Austria and working in Slovakia at a company she ran with her husband.
‘Armed Operations Unit officers undertook surveillance on the two men as they prepared to make multiple trips to both Austria and Slovakia where, investigators believe, they carried out their own surveillance on the victim.
Phone and internet records for the pair were obtained which officers allege show the men discussing the potential ‘honor killing’ murder plot including planning of events both at home and abroad.
