We got an email today about Chaturbate shutting down a massive number of accounts, especially those in Colombia.
The message they are getting isn’t clear.
“As we trust you are aware, your ability to access your account(s) has been disabled; and, your ability to access your account(s) will not be restored, as your ban from the Chaturbate platform is permanent.
Please note that should you access any accounts in violation of this permanent ban, such accounts will be subject to termination without warning and any amounts associated with such accounts will be deemed forfeit.
Please note that due to the nature of your account status, we will be very likely not to respond to emails regarding your permanent ban.
Thank you, The Chaturbate Team”
We did some digging and found out the problem seems to be related to their new ID verification system. To minimize their potential liability a content creator must have a valid ID that will pass through the new advanced ID verification service. This isn’t always the case with places like Colombia. Their IDs can be questionable at times.
We spoke to a friend over at Chaturbate who told us the problem isn’t with the creator themselves but that their new ID verification system couldn’t confirm they had a valid ID.
So what is this about? Well, it’s not just Chaturbate.
Many platforms like OnlyFans, and Sextpanther are starting to use the advanced ID verification, which means that you can’t get away with using a fake ID anymore.
This is an important step in the right direction and a really important part of stopping underage girls from getting naked online.
The new ID verification system can be annoying but I really think it’s an important step in the right direction.
