The Free Speech Coalition (FSC) has published an update regarding the status of disbursements from the Emergency Fund it established to provide relief to talent and crew unable to work due to the COVID-19 crisis.
FSC noted that as of Wednesday it has raised $115,000 for the fund, and is in the process of distributing $60,000 to 200 of the 489 people who have applied thus far.
To date we have received almost 500 applications and raised $115,000, with another $5,000 in pledged donations. This includes the $20,000 in matching funds from Pornhub.
For us to send checks to all eligible applicants, we will need to raise an additional $30,000 beyond the currently pledged donations. To be able to reopen the application for financial relief, we will need to raise even more than that.
We are still in the process of distributing the first 200 checks. We have sent checks to 163 people but have been unable to confirm payment information for 37 people. They need to reply to the email we sent to the address they provided with their application. If we don’t hear from them by Friday 4/17, we will put their names back into the pool and reallocate those funds to other verified applicants.
Next week, we will notify the next 100 applicants eligible to receive a $300 check.
If you have not yet been notified that you will be receiving a check, please be patient. We are working as quickly as we can to get these funds sent to talent and crew.
