Does Porn Really Need Another Awards Show? X3sixty?

Just when we collectively give out more awards than there are movies being made every year another awards show throws its hat into the ring.  Paul Fishbein is heading up a company called X3sixty.  X3sixty is a media website for the industry.  In some senses it’s a good idea but in this case it simply falls flat.  It has lots of video clips of porn people interviewing each other and mindless dreck of that nature.  There is nothing interesting, controversial or newsworthy about it, but I digress.

X3sixty has announced that it is going to have….ugh….an awards show.  Just what we need, we certainly don’t give out enough awards to each other in this biz.  This one has a big head start on all the others though, it’s owned by Paul Fishbein. Fish as he is known is a masterful politician who previously owned and ran AVN.

Now what is curious to me is how AVN was all over this in terms of promoting it when it would likely be the main competition to the AVN Awards. Maybe the AVN Awards was not a part of the AVN purchase and this is a co-effort to supplant their own awards show.

As for X3sixty unless they do something with substance I don’t see this taking off.  The only thing it has going for it is that they have hired Adella to do the PR.
