A packed house of porn’s elite greeted Will Ryder at the Argyle as he stepped to the stage to accept the 2018 XRCO Award for Best Comedy. His original comedy Bad Babes Inc., a hilarious feature movie from Adam & Eve Pictures had enough votes to claim top prize and the beautiful trophy.
“I want to thank the X-Rated Critics Organization for this honor also Adam & Eve and Katie Morgan who starred in this movie,” Ryder, dressed in all white attire, said in what was his shortest victory speech ever.
Asked why he had so few words at Club Argyle in Hollywood, the AVN, XRCO and NightMoves Hall of Fame member remarked, “First of all, Dakota Skye told me I looked like an older Backstreet Boy and I didn’t want anyone asking me to sing. Plus nobody can hear what anyone is saying from the stage anyway. We’re in a cool nightclub with a $250,000 sound system yet audible speech from the stage is mysteriously nullified at these XRCO events,” Ryder joked.
“The XRCO is a very prestigious organization but it’s become somewhat of a running gag that industry people attending the XRCO Awards are there to have a great time and not pay too much attention to the trophies being handed out on stage,” stated Scott David who co-produced Bad Babes Inc. “We love the XRCO but we’re at a loss to figure out what happens to the sound systems.”
In fact, many starlets were not paying attention but were instead busy posing in the red carpet media room located in the basement of the club offering a fleeting glimpse of a breast or on rare occasion, a well-shaved crotch while the awards were being handed out upstairs. “No wonder very few of the new girls have any clue who we are,” Ryder offered. “They’re all busy taking photos while we’re upstairs winning.”
Bad Babes Inc. tells the hilarious story of a blind-sided stay-at-home wife who receives her ex-husband’s porn company in the divorce settlement. The fact she knows nothing about porn or the fact he even owned an adult entertainment company doesn’t stop her from turning the corporate doormat into a money-making juggernaut.
The comedy stars Katie Morgan, Adriana Chechik, Luna Star, Kat Dior, Tiffany Watson, Sarah Vandella, Sunny Lane, Kimberly Chi, Zelda Morrison, Loni Legend, Whitney Wright, Tanner Mayes, Ryan Ryder, Alec Knight, Seth Gamble, Chris Strokes, Moe Johnson, Eric John, Jeremy Steele, James Bartholet and Frank Bukkwyd.
Adam & Eve executives were happy to learn that the movie was rewarded with yet another industry accolade.
“It’s hard to win major awards yet Scott David and Will Ryder have a knack for creating entertaining original movies like Bad Babes Inc., so we keep hiring them,” stated Bob Christian, GM of Adam & Eve.
Previously Bad Babes Inc. picked up the 2018 XBiz Comedy Release of the Year, the NightMoves First Choice Award and the 2018 AVN Award for Best Screenplay.
“I pride myself on my writing and storytelling and my cast and crew is second to none so this XRCO trophy will sit proudly on my piano,” remarked Ryder. Little did he know, Scott David had already commandeered the trophy for display on his mantle. “What the hell, Scott doesn’t even have a fireplace,” Ryder fired back.
