Some terrible publicists, such as Erika Icon of The Rub PR, try and fail to work within this form — for lack of talent, and also because they have never successfully submitted a release to a professional mainstream site or publication.

The ASN Awards is a small event held annually on the east coast under the auspices of ASN Lifestylle Magazine. Every year they put out a call for pre-nominations, which is to say, people submit the names of performers, content creators, entertainers, etc. and by some process the ‘top 8″ iin each category are granted nominations at the ASN Awards and the list of nominees is published on the ASN website.
This part of the process has been completed in the 2026 ASN Awards. The final list of nominees was recently published, and voting in the awards is set to begin this coming Monday, April 13.
Publicists are now busy pumping out press releases in which performers, creators and the like, boast of the nominations they’ve earned, and solicit votes from the public and the industry. We ran one today.

Now, before you defend Potter / DeMarko by saying, this is a simple error of semantics, because Bo$$mane Dre has received two ASMN nominations — perhaps Potter/DeMarko is trying to solicit votes in the Awards?
Those are not the two categories in which Bo$$mane Dre ultimately received nominations. As you can plainly see, he is nominated for Best Male Porn Star (which is insane, but I digress) and Best Content Creator Performer.
This attempted press release fails on every possible level. It is truly remarkable.
