Former Reno Police Department Deputy Chief Thomas William Robinson is among 13 people facing charges related to a child sexual exploitation operation by the Regional Human Exploitation and Trafficking unit.
Robinson retired from service in January 2024. He worked under former Chief Jason Soto.
He faces charges including soliciting a 17-year-old for prostitution, and attempted child abuse for sexual exploitation.
During the operation, detectives were contacted by suspects through online platforms including social media. Reno Police say those suspects arranged a meeting in the northwest area of the Nevada city with an undercover detective posing as a minor to engage in sexual activity. In one case, a suspect allegedly arrived at the meeting location to have sex with what he believed to be a 9-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy.
The operation was a collaborative effort that included several local law enforcement agencies as well as the FBI.
Detectives warn parents to keep a close eye on their children’s social media and online activity and to watch for warning signs such as secretive behavior, mood changes, sudden gifts or money, or pulling away from family and friends.
The following suspects were arrested during the operation:
-Ever Noe Martinez Solorro, 31. Charges include conspiracy to commit sexual assault of a 9-year-old girl, conspiracy to commit sexual assault of a 3-year-old boy, two counts of attempted sexual assault of a child, two counts of attempted lewdness of a child, and two counts of attempted child abuse for sexual exploitation.
-Rick Harness, 62. Charges include soliciting a 17-year-old girl for prostitution and attempted child abuse for sexual exploitation.
-Nathan Neal, 27. Charges include luring of a 15-year-old boy, attempted kidnapping, attempted statutory sex by person 21 or older, attempted child abuse for sexual exploitation, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
-Courtney Leverett, 41. Charges include conspiracy to commit sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy, attempted sexual assault of a 13-year-old child, attempted lewdness with a child, attempted child abuse for sexual exploitation, attempt to furnish a dangerous drug to a minor, possession of a controlled substance for sales and intentionally exposing others to a dangerous disease.
-Alfred Terry Johnson, 39. Charges include soliciting a 16-year-old for prostitution and attempted child abuse for sexual exploitation.
-Gurpreet Singh, 28. Charges include soliciting a 16-year-old for prostitution, attempted kidnapping, and attempted child abuse for sexual exploitation.
-Thomas Robinson V, 52. Charges include soliciting a 17-year-old for prostitution, and attempted child abuse for sexual exploitation.
-Andrew Dressler 35. Charges include attempting to furnish a dangerous drug to a 14-year-old minor, possession of a controlled substance, and attempted abuse of a child.
-Edward Joseph Clerici Parker, 62. Charges include attempted statutory sexual seduction of a 15-year-old child, attempting to lure a child with a computer for sex, and attempted child abuse for sexual exploitation.
