What’s an STD got to do with showing up at an awards ceremony? She’s not doing a gang-bang? Years ago, I caught the clap while I was in college. It burned like crazy when I peed, but it didn’t stop me from going to class. I just don’t get this focus on the notion that if someone feels good enough to sit in a seat at an awards ceremony, they’re genitals are in a condition to get pounded on a porn set. I’m not defending Barrett Blade, I think calling out anyone on twitter is immature or not.

But letting Kota 100% off the hook isn’t exactly fair. I’m sure Blade isn’t the only producer she has cancelled on, he is just the only one saying something about it.

I have read the tweets linked by Monica. Here is how I would have responded to Barrett if I were Kota (and female which I am not) and had a VD while he was insisting I do the scene anyway. Since Barrett is a male performer himself (and Kota is female) I would have offered to do the scene if he were to replace the scheduled male talent with himself. If he were willing to do so, I would have done the scene and laughed when he popped a positive for gonorrhea or chlamydia (or worse yet, crabs). It would serve him right for insisting a performer do a scene while also having VD!

I will also note that if Jilted’s reasoning is correct this would not be the only faux pas he has committed lately. Shy Love is currently suing him regarding his conduct against her for a talent agency he worked for. It’s not professional to pull a no-show but it’s also not very professional to then call the person out on Twitter and whine about it over 10 posts. Furthermore, if your whole business hinges on 500 dollars you have bigger problems than girls not showing up to the set. With no-shows bound to happen at some point it should be factored into your costs on each and every production budget or your annual company budget so you can offset that loss by raising your selling price or putting in other cost cutting measures. Maybe put half as much energy into actually running your business as you do making a scene about stuff on Twitter like a teenager and things will be a little better for you.

I have no idea why Dakota Skye failed to show up on set. But equating one’s ability to show up for a public event with one’s ability to perform hardcore vaginal or anal sex is a stretching it. That’s a little like saying if a running back with a broken leg uses crutches to go out to dinner on Saturday night, there’s no reason he can’t carry the ball on Sunday afternoon.

@monicaf First of All. Just be quiet. Kota Skye cost Barrett Blade $500 for not showing up on set. I would be pissed off too. Especially considering the night before she was trying to get into a XRCO Party. Maybe she didn’t get it, but if she could show up at the door there, she could show up on set the next day. I’m not saying he’s right in humiliating her on twitter like that, but at the same time lets just say now I know why Mark Spiegler parted ways with her.

As for the XRCO Awards they not only did the 21+ thing but apparently insulted Dani Daniels, Bonnie Rotten, and other girls who chose not to attend their shows. So that isn’t really professional IMO. Overall there is really no Award Show in Porn that is super solid, except for maybe AVN’s. Can’t blame them for missing a couple trophies I guess.
