Dale is facing a life of pain and (best-case scenario) a non-addictive dependence on opioids to keep the pain down enough to function. In my case it is the L4-L5 and L5-S1 vertebrae (the lower back), I face numbness in my legs and feet as well as pain in my back on an daily basis and I expect Dale to face the same, just a little higher up on his spine. I hope Dale’s surgery is successful and that the pain and disability is as minimal as possible but I don’t expect him to perform again. Guys, learn your lesson from Dale and don’t dive into the shallow end of a swimming pool (I don’t really know what caused my injury as it came on gradually).
