Former male performer Dale Dabone was hospitalized tonight. He posted this message on his Facebook page … “Hurt myself pretty good… In the hospital tonight, will find out if I need surgery on my neck and back… not gonna lie… I’m afraid”
It’s unclear at this time how he was injured but we will provide more details when it becomes available. For now, we wish him the best and hope he gets well soon.

Update: In addition to the gash on his head, he has fractures in his C6, C7, and C8 vertebrae. He will be facing a fusion procedure and some screws. The injuries were from an incident that took place on Saturday while swimming in his pool.

As I can personally attest, back injuries don’t usually completely heal. Dale is facing a life of pain and (best-case scenario) a non-addictive dependence on opioids to keep the pain down enough to function. In my case it is the L4-L5 and L5-S1 vertebrae (the lower back), I face numbness in my legs and feet as well as pain in my back on an daily basis and I expect Dale to face the same, just a little higher up on his spine. I hope Dale’s surgery is successful and that the pain and disability is as minimal as possible but I don’t expect him to perform again. Guys, learn your lesson from Dale and don’t dive into the shallow end of a swimming pool (I don’t really know what caused my injury as it came on gradually).
