I have lived in the same house for over 25 years and it doesn’t look like that place! I also don’t have any cockroaches (I do have a cat and a dog, maybe they eat them — I haven’t had that problem and they do exist in my area of Michigan). About 26-28 years ago I did have guests from another state accidentally haul a couple of cockroaches to my home in their luggage — I fogged the house, killed whatever cockroaches I saw and it never turned into a problem there but that was in a prior home I owned and lived in. I let them know what I found (in a nice manner), they thanked me and I don’t know what they did after that.

I know I am glad I am not the family member that drew the straw to clean that place up (thankfully I am not related to Ron Jeremy)! I would probably have hired a crew to haul it all (minus what was in the garbage cans) to a storage locker until he knew if he was going to a prison and ass fuck center or if he beat the charges, if he went to prison for any long period of time I would probably go through it (maybe with a clothespin on my nose), keep what was worth keeping and send the rest to a landfill or incinerator. As for the apartment cleaning, let the landlord use the deposit for that. That looks like a nice apartment complex telling from the outside, why didn’t the manager do an annual inspection at lease renewal, see that shit and make him pay to clean it up? The HOA where I live keeps staff for grounds and maintenance, I would think this apartment complex does as well. They will have to use them to clean this apartment up for re-rental.
