Your right, there is alot to know yet about the brain and human sexuality, but at least we live in a time when there is an interest in knowing more. Social issues are just some thing that I often think about, so in that respect, I have made an effort to learn more than what I knew originally. I totally get that people are afraid of what they don’t understand, but in the best circumstances, people can go beyond their comfort zone when they are ready. Some people, like you said, would never get to that point in their lives.
I think you had a very valid, and real point and its not only a great story, but it encapsulates very well the social change you mentioned in your post. There’s definite value in that, and is in fact,a brave move.

My mother taught us kids from an early age to treat other people the way you want them to treat you. Live by that rule and you can’t go wrong.

Im with ya Ivy but remember that human nature is to fear what we dont understand, I think we have come a long way in understanding human sexuality and that helps. Of course there will always be bigots who dont even want to understand and simply hate so that they can feel that they are better than someone….It was an interesting story and I thought I would relate it…

I’ll leave this wonderful quote from the Declaration of Independence, with two minor alterations:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all [people] are created equal, that they are endowed […] with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
