The problem is the activists will take the most dire and vile story of female prostitution and apply that to the entire business. Porn people do that to to somehow demonize girls that escort (which is almost all of them escorting).

hey, this is the era of piracy , tube sites, and very small sales of a particular title. If girls want to drive a nice car and buy 5000 dollar purses only a tiny tiny number of them can achieve that only on porn income; and those girls had to work hard to get to that level. You can’t just walk into porn like a dozen years ago and get 150 scenes at 800 – 2000 a piece in your first 12 months in the biz.

So, if they still want that fine lifestyle; then escorting, companionship to wealthy hollywood types and athletes, and sugar daddies are the way to get there. I have no issue with this at all.

Just attack abuse, exploitation, forced situations and trafficking, and the bottom feeder stuff. Going on and on about Porn Girl A offering 1500 per hour private sessions is a pointless exercise.

Prostitution and porn star escorts are not the same thing. Girls working the street as prostitutes are in a very dangerous profession. Many are forced into the job and have no way out. They are addicted to drugs and have to turn tricks to pay their pimp as well as their habit. There is always an angry pimp working hard to keep his stable of girls in line. Lets also not forget that street hookers are the #1 target of serial killers.

Porn Stars that escort don’t usually have to deal with any of that drama.

The only revelation here is that porn and the monetary incentive behind it has changed dramatically, it isnt the same biz as it was even ten years ago, I doubt that comes as a shock to anyone but people know that the 80s were a decade of greed but it doesnt stop CNN from rehashing it to gain perspective

I have made it pretty clear as recently as today that prostitution carries less risk than doing porn. it shouldn’t but it does.

and finally if I even have a hint that someone is being forced or coerced into doing something against their will I will turn them in to authorities.

Done right and with the cooperation of producers – and I doubt they can do it right – a performers union could address one issue, which is the saturation of talent. One of the byproducts of unions in mainstream is that there is not a saturation of talent because you can’t work unless you’re a member of the union. A producer can’t just hire some young hack writer who is willing to write a blockbuster for 50 grand rather than the 3 million you’d pay an experienced screenwriter.

In the age of gonzo, where all you have to do is look good getting naked and having sex, there’s a limitless number of people who are willing to do that.

Add to that that you have a limitless number of people who fancy themselves producers and who want to put up a website and you’ve got a situation that spawns saturation as a business model.
