However, some rural California county Sheriffs are interpreting this as everyone that applies and passes the background check has need and issues the permits pretty freely. It is virtually impossible to get one in Los Angeles, Orange or Ventura counties, though (where someone in the LA porn scene likely lives).

California bail for attempted murder is (IIRC) $500K (bails are standardized across the state and the bail manual is published and available) and almost no bondsman will touch it without a $750K house to secure it. As for having her gun legally, she might own it legally but it is extremely difficult to get a carry permit in LA County, theoretically she could fly in to LA for work and live in Placer, El Dorado or Alpine County where the sheriff passes out carry permits like dinner mints (the permits are valid statewide) but that is unlikely. Out of state carry permits are not valid in California unless the permit holder is a current or retired police officer and has the federal carry permit available to them.
