Cam star Lindsey Leigh explores the delicate art of selling used underwear and lingerie online to create extra cash revenue through an active fan base, and explains how to enhance sales techniques for long-term success.
“Selling personal items that smell like you is a nice touch for fans to feel closer to you, but there is a method to it in order to make it worthwhile,” says Leigh. “It’s a competitive market and sales will depend on your fan base, but there are ways to maximize your net profits.
“I place my socks, underwear, nylons, bras, shoes, etc. on my Amazon Wish List and make it a fan task to purchase them… make sure you get a 5-10 packs for under $20. This eliminates inventory investment and cost. If you buy them yourself, write it off at the end of the year. Do not buy individual items, buy them in sets; this keeps costs all the way down.”
Leigh advises to sell a minimum of four items a week at around $20 a pop, ship from home, add a detailed description, clear photos and video showing the item’s authenticity, and “customize your packaging with tissue paper, thank you cards, flyers and swag… that something ‘extra’ to encourage repeat business.
“You can easily upsell packages that include custom clips & photos of you and the item included in the price,” adds Leigh. “Ultimately it’s more for fan experience and potential sales than items being an actual moneymaker.”
For Leigh, “Most of my sales are simple… ’I wore these today on cam. They have juices in them and as you can imagine has taken bathroom trips with me. Aside from the taste and smell factor, they were on my pussy lips!’”
