I just wonder if she has had any target practice lately as many people with CCW permits don’t get enough practice with his/her firearm and that gets people in trouble when the time comes to use it.

My understanding is that in many larger cities the police department has a shooting range and will for a small fee allow a CCW permit holder to use the facilities. If your grandmother lives near a larger city (and can’t target practice in her backyard) it may be worth looking into.
