The industry learned of a possible HIV outbreak via Twitter, when Lacy Lennon began tweeting, asking if anyone else got the news that there was an HIV outbreak.
Understandably she was upset and confused when she was called in to retest without saying it was due to a possible HIV outbreak and they didn’t give her any information. All they said was to come in and retest. She was freaked out.
The next day the FSC sent out the following letter ….
This morning, PASS was alerted that a performer, who had not tested with PASS in several months, had tested positive for HIV. Any performer who has had contact with them is being contacted and retested.
We have been advised by the PASS testing facility that there does not appear to be a threat to the performer pool. However, in an abundance of caution, we are calling for a precautionary production hold. We expect to have full results for all tests by Tuesday and will make a decision to lift the hold as soon as those results are back.

We do not know who tested positive. We don’t even know if it was a male or a female.
All we know at this time is that they tested at Talent Testing and the person is a mainstream performer.
Because of HIPPA laws, we aren’t likely to find out much more information but we will let you know if we do.
All those involved are expected to be re-tested by Tuesday, which means the production hold could be lifted as soon as Wednesday.

I wonder how many in the industry actively take Truvada?
