Put a nail it, the porno parody is officially dead. With the rare exception of the Axel Braun big budget productions like Suicide Squad XXX, there really isn’t anything else of note going on in that category.
So the question is, will AVN kill the category all together at next year’s awards show?
Sure there’s the occasional release like 2 Broke Sluts, but it’s really nothing more than a thinly veiled gonzo flick with a parody like cover.
In the end it’s just 6 scenes of two girls having sex. It’s not even an actual parody of Two Broke Girls. Just so happens to be two girls, one blonde, one brunette who are waitresses, broke and having sex.
This year there has been only 1 actual parody released, Star Wars Underworld, from Digital Playground.
This time last year there were 6 parodies released during the same time period.
So what do you think? Time to kill off the category at next year’s AVNs?

Naah – releases early in the year are traditionally slow – the Parody is alive and well – there are even web sites that are nothing BUT parodies! We have to wade through a LOT of parodies for the upcoming 33rd annual XRCO AWARDS SHOW on April 27 and I can say that stating the demise of parodies is here is absolutely incorrect.
I think Two Broke Sluts is a great addition to the Parody Genre. The definition of parody: “an imitation of the style of a particular writer, artist, or genre with deliberate exaggeration for comic effect.”
I have seen quite a few parody movies that either don’t deliver on the sex, or don’t deliver on the parody aspect. Many that have won awards even that I consider sub par or a waste of time and money.
Funny that in my opinion this a much better parody than most and it does’t actually declare itself a parody. The implication is clear though from the awesome cover.
I’m not going to do a full review here, but the two stars that play the Two Broke Sluts have great chemistry and kind of fit the persona of the Two Broke Girls as a pair without being replica’s or impersonations of them. (These sluts even have different names.) The movie is fun, a little comedic, and brings in a few elements from Two Broke Girls, like the financial tally at the end of each scene.
Once again, they don’t claim parody, though it squarely fits the definition in my opinion, it captures the feel of the show, though with a different plot, and delivers superbly where most other parody films fall short, in the shooting and delivery of the sex scenes(which also make up a much larger percentage of the video than most parody movies).
This was something different and fun and I fully appreciate that in porn these days. I hope to see this continue as a series and would definitely recommend checking it out if you are at all interested in the type of content involved in it.
