THE HEART PROJECT DETAILS PLANS FOR FIRST YEAR
NFT HOLDERS WILL COLLABORATE ON PROJECTS WITH BENNY BLANCO + LIL DICKY, MADEINTYO, DEB NEVER, D33J, JEAN DAWSON AND MORE PHOTOGRAPHER AIDAN CULLEN, ARTIST STEFAN MEIER AND TEAM TO BRING THE PROJECT TO NFT.NYC AND ART BASEL MIAMI BEACH
The Heart Project, a community-driven creative studio, unveils plans for its first year today. The Heart project, launched with an offering of NFTs last week, aims to create a non-hierarchical space for its members to collaborate on creative projects of all mediums. In this first year, community members (NFT holders) will work with benny blanco and Lil Dicky, MadeinTYO, and D33j on music-based projects and with Deb Never and Jean Dawson on music videos and much more. Further announcements are imminent.
The Heart Project aims to compete with major studios on the highest level while implementing an equitable sharing of work and profit based on the blockchain. A studio that has the ability to produce anything creative while ensuring community input in every step and ownership in every project, instead of a hierarchical power structure with ownership in the hands of the few.
Members will vote every eight weeks to fund projects proposed by the community, execute and attend attend in-person events, collaborate on a clothing collection and zine, work to establish a charity fund and philanthropic partnerships, and receive merch and further perks for being continued community members. All Heart holders will be welcome to submit project ideas from any genre, with funding coming from proceeds from this and future NFT collections as well as future creative endeavors.
Submissions for the zine project open today at 12 p.m. PT and will remain open for two weeks. Any Heart holder can submit a one-page design—a photo, drawing, piece of digital art, graphic, poem etc.—with the theme of “Hearts.” Team members Aidan Cullen, HK and Stefan Meier will ingest submissions and assemble a cohesive zine that will be launched physically and digitally in the coming weeks. The Heart Project launched Monday, September 22 via an offering of NFTs available on the Ethereum blockchain, purchasable on OpenSea. 10,000 computer generated art pieces featuring artwork by Stefan Meier sold out in less than a minute at .08888 Ethereum. To celebrate the launch, The Heart Project threw a party in Los Angeles that saw attendance from their Heart Holders and Faze Banks, 24kGoldn, Brockhampton’s Kevin Abstract, ASAP Nast. Nicky Holiday Smino, Buddy and more. Further parties in New York during NFT.NYC and Miami during Art Basel are forthcoming.
The Heart Project is the brainchild of visual artist Stefan Meier, director/photographer Aidan Cullen (A$AP Rocky, Trippie Redd, Halsey) and a team of crypto enthusiasts and creative professionals including Aaron Maresky, Josh Fallas and Luke Davis. In the studio’s early days, these founding members will leverage their communities to bring in artist collaborators and notable creative projects. With the creative engagements planned with some of the most innovative and well known musicians & other cultural figures, The Heart Project is on track to become a sought-after creative resource in its own right. The goal is to bridge the gap between the music/ fashion spaces and the NFT/Crypto world, and they already have a compelling roster of early supporters showing that potential: A-Trak, Dave 1 of Chromeo, Daniel Caesar, Edison Chen, Verbal (Ambush), SG Lewis, 347 Aidan and more.
